Scope of the Journal

The International Journal on Special Education and Parenting (IJSEP) welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, short communications, and conceptual papers related to Special Education, Inclusive Education, Parenting, Child Development, Family Studies, Educational Psychology, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Inclusive Education Practices: Strategies for integrating children with special needs into mainstream classrooms, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), curriculum adaptation, teacher training, and professional development for inclusive settings.
  • Disability-Specific Interventions: Educational strategies for students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, sensory impairments, assistive technologies, adaptive tools, assessment methods, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Early Intervention and Development: Early childhood screening, developmental assessments, speech therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral interventions, and family-centered early intervention approaches.
  • Special Education Policy and Rights: Legal frameworks, advocacy initiatives, inclusive education policies, disability rights, equity, accessibility, and educational reforms supporting learners with special needs.
  • Parenting Children with Special Needs: Emotional, social, and behavioral support for parents, home-based interventions, parent training programs, parental advocacy, and community engagement.
  • Mental Health and Family Dynamics: Family resilience, parental stress, coping strategies, mental health and well-being, family therapy, counseling approaches, and family adjustment processes.
  • Parenting in Diverse Contexts: Parenting practices in single-parent households, extended families, multicultural settings, low-resource communities, and marginalized populations.
  • Education and Parenting Collaboration: Parent-teacher partnerships, home-school communication, family involvement in educational planning, collaborative support systems, and participation in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Peer Review Process

All submissions to the International Journal on Special Education and Parenting (IJSEP) undergo a rigorous blind peer-review process by at least two subject matter experts. Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, clarity, relevance to the journal's scope, and contribution to the field. The standard review timeline is 6–10 weeks. Authors will be notified of the decision along with constructive feedback. Rejected articles may be resubmitted after revisions for fresh review.
